လြတ္လပ္မႈရွိေသာ ဘာသာတရား (Religion of Freedom)

Buddhism does not prevent anyone from learning the teachings of other religions. In fact, the Buddha encouraged His followers to learn about other religions and to compare His Teachings with other teachings. The Buddha says that if there are reasonable and rational teachings in other religions. His followers are free to respect such teachings.

ဗုဒၶဘာသာသည္ အျခားဘာသာတရားမ်ား၏ သင္ျပခ်က္မ်ားကို မေလ့လာရဟု မည္သူတစ္ဦးတစ္ေယာက္ကိုမွ် တားဆီးပိတ္ပင္ျခင္း မျပဳပါ။ တကယ္ျဖစ္ခဲ့သည္မွာ ဗုဒၶျမတ္စြာဘုရားသည္ သူ၏တပည့္သာဝကမ်ားကို အျခားဘာသာတရားမ်ားကို ေလ့လာၿပီးသူ၏ သင္ျပခ်က္မ်ားႏွင့္ ႏိႈင္းယွဥ္ရန္ အားေပးတုိက္တြန္းေတာ္မူခဲ့၏။ အကယ္၍ အျခားဘာသာတရားမ်ား၌ အေၾကာင္းအက်ိဳး ညီညြတ္ေသာ ဆင္ျခင္တံုတရားႏွင့္ ကိုက္ညီေသာ သင္ျပခ်က္မ်ားရွိလွ်င္ ထိုသင္ျပခ်က္မ်ားကို အေလးအျမတ္ျပဳရန္ ျမတ္စြာဘုရားသည္ သူ၏တပည့္မ်ားအား လြတ္လပ္ခြင့္ ေပးေတာ္မူ၏။

According to the Buddha, religion should be left to one’s own free choice. Religion is not a law, but a disciplinary code which should be followed with understanding. To Buddhists true religious principels are a neither a divine law nor a human law, but a natural law.

ဗုဒၶျမတ္စြာဘုရား၏ အလိုအရ ဘာသာတရားကို လူတစ္ဦးစီ၏ ကိုယ္ပိုင္ လြတ္လပ္ေသာ ေ႐ြးခ်ယ္မႈျဖင့္ လြတ္လပ္စြာ ကိုးကြယ္ေစသင့္၏။ ဘာသာတရားသည္ တရားဥပေဒမဟုတ္ပါ။ နားလည္မႈျဖင့္ လိုက္နာက်င့္သံုးရေသာ စည္းကမ္းစနစ္တစ္ရပ္သာျဖစ္၏။ ဗုဒၶဘာသာဝင္မ်ားအဖို႔တြင္ မွန္ကန္ေသာ ဘာသာတရားမ်ား အေျခခံမူမ်ားသည္ ထာဝရဘုရားသခင္၏ ဥပေဒလည္းမဟုတ္၊ လူ႔ဥပေဒလည္းမဟုတ္၊ သဘာဝဥပေဒတစ္ရပ္သာျဖစ္၏။

Man should be allowed to choose his religion which is in accordance with his own conviction. One has no right to force another to accept a particular religion. Some people surrender their religion for the sake of love, without a proper understanding of their partner’s religion. Religion should not be changed to suit man’s emotions and human weaknesses. One must think very carefully before changing one’s religion. Religion is not a subject for bargaining; one should not change one’s religion for personal, material gains. Religion is to be used for spiritual development and for self-salvation.

လူသားအား သူ၏ယံုၾကည္ခ်က္ႏွင့္ ကိုက္ညီသည့္ သူ၏ဘာသာတရားကို ေ႐ြးခ်ယ္ခြင့္ျပဳသင့္၏။ လူတစ္ေယာက္သည္ အျခားလူတစ္ေယာက္အား တစ္စံုတစ္ခုေသာ ဘာသာတရားကို လက္ခံဖို႔အတင္းအက်ပ္ ျပဳလုပ္ခြင့္မရွိပါ။ အခ်ိဳ႕သူတို႔သည္ အခ်စ္ေရးအတြက္ ခ်စ္သူ၏ ဘာသာတရားကို ေကာင္းစြာမသိနားမလည္ပဲႏွင့္ မိမိတို႔၏ ဘာသာတရားကို စြန္႔လႊတ္လိုက္ၾက၏။ လူသား၏ ျပင္းျပေသာ ခံစားမႈမ်ား ေပ်ာ့ညံ့မႈမ်ားတို႔ႏွင့္ ေလ်ာ္ညီေအာင္ ကိုးကြယ္သည့္ဘာသာကို မေျပာင္းလဲသင့္ေပ။ မိမိ၏ ကိုးကြယ္မႈဘာသာကို မေျပာင္းလဲမီ ေစ့စပ္ေသခ်ာစြာ စဥ္းစားရမည္၊ ဘာသာတရားသည္ ေစ်းစစ္စရာ ဘာသာတစ္ခုမဟုတ္ေပ၊ လူတစ္ေယာက္သည္ မိမိကိုးကြယ္သည့္ဘာသာကို ပုဂၢိဳလ္ေရး၊ ပစၥည္းအျမတ္အစြန္း ရေရးအတြက္ မေျပာင္းလဲသင့္ေပ။ ဘာသာတရားကို စိတ္ပိုင္းဆိုင္ရာ ဖြံ႔ၿဖိဳးတိုးတက္ျခင္းႏွင့္ မိမိကိုယ္ မိမိကယ္တင္ျခင္းတို႔အတြက္ အသံုးျပဳရမည္။

Buddhists never try to influence other religionists to come and embrace their religion for material gain. Nor do they try to exploit poverty, sickness, illiteracy and ignorance in order to increase the number of Buddhist population. The Buddha advised those who indicated their wish to follow Him, not to be hasty in accepting His Teachings. He advised them to consider carefully His Teaching and to determine for themselves whether it was practical or not for them to follow.

ဗုဒၶဘာသာဝင္မ်ားသည္ အျခားဘာသာဝင္တို႔အား ပစၥည္းဥစၥာေပးကမ္း၍ မိမိတို႔၏ ဘာသာသို႔ ကူးေျပာင္းလာရန္ မည္သည့္အခါမွ် မတိုက္တြန္းပါ။ တန္ခိုးအာဏာျဖင့္ လႊမ္းမိုးရန္လည္း မႀကိဳးပမ္းပါ။ ဆင္းရဲျခင္း၊ ဖ်ားနာျခင္း၊ စာမတတ္ျခင္းႏွင့္ မသိနားမလည္ျခင္းတို႔အေပၚ အခြင့္ေကာင္းယူ၍ ဗုဒၶဘာသာဝင္ဦးေရ တိုးပြားေအာင္ မႀကိဳးပမ္းပါ။ ဗုဒၶျမတ္စြာဘုရားသည္ သူ႔အားဆည္းကပ္ကိုးကြယ္ရန္ ဆႏၵျပဳသူတို႔ကိုပင္ သင္ျပခ်က္မ်ားကုိ လက္ခံယူဖို႔ အရင္စလိုမျပဳၾကရန္ ၾသဝါဒေပးေတာ္မူသည္။ သူ၏ တရားေတာ္မ်ားကို ေသေသခ်ာခ်ာ စဥ္းစားဆင္ျခင္၍ ထိုတရားေတာ္မ်ားကို သူတို႔လက္ေတြ႔က်င့္သံုးႏိုင္သည္၊ သို႔မဟုတ္ မက်င့္သံုးႏိုင္သည္ကို သူတို႔ကိုယ္တိုင္ ဆံုးျဖတ္ၾကရန္ ျမတ္စြာဘုရား တိုက္တြန္းေတာ္မူသည္။
